I never really considered myself an artist before I came to Hunter College. I’ve always been affiliated with the title “Athlete” because sports has been been a part of my life since the age of 5. I tried drawing, painting, and singing but it wasn’t for me. Soccer, football, basketball now those are things I really enjoy. Two years into college I decided to become a media major in the efforts to get a career in sports. As I began to take on these media classes, I’ve realized how much I enjoy film, photography and graphic design. Ultimately I want to leave Hunter College as both an Athlete and an Artist. I want to combine my interests in sports with art. Whether that’s photography or film. I want to develop my own unique style, that’ll make me stand out. I get these images and ideas in my head of what a good video might look like, that’ll really captivate with an audience, the problem is I have no idea how to put that on screen.
